“My experience with IKOR involved a client whom I had supported from a legal and real estate perspective. His physical and mental health had begun to decline and was living alone in a remote rural area when he experienced a medical crisis. I had quite a challenge as a legal representative with no willing family members to manage his care. I began to explore various options and found IKOR was the only provider willing to work in a multi-faceted role to support my client. He had numerous needs beginning with his medical crisis, monitoring his medical care, transitioning him to rehabilitation followed by a move to assisted living. IKOR coordinated all his needs including finding round the clock care for him.  He wanted to return to his independent life immediately, however it was not an option at this time, but was the long-term goal.

IKOR was focused on his needs finding an interim living situation, his own apartment near his home with 24-hour care to improve medically while they coordinated substantial retrofitting required to enable him to live safely in his home.  IKOR’s ability to look for creative solutions to issues is a core competency to support their clients.  My client wasn’t the easiest to deal with, however IKOR worked diligently to demonstrate their commitment to getting him back home which became the foundation for a trusting relationship between my client and the IKOR staff. 

Today he has returned home with some continued monitoring, and he loves the IKOR staff. I truly believe that getting him to that goal would not have been possible without IKOR.  Additionally, their work supporting his improvement has enabled us to limit several court-imposed decisions because he had improved so dramatically under their care.

Throughout my career I have encountered situations in which I know my limitations. Had I tried to manage this myself it would have been another full-time job and without the expertise IKOR possesses, the results would not have been so positive.
