“Innovation” in care management used to mean delivering care in new ways or creating a new assessment program to meet the need of an underserved group. But today, innovation in care includes using technology and digital tools to drive a dramatic transformation in the lives of seniors, adults with disabilities, and children with special needs. We are always looking for new ways to leverage technology on behalf of our clients to deliver innovative solutions to improve quality of life and extend independence.

In addition to finding ways to utilize technology to address the individualized needs of our clients, we use the following systems across our organization to support our clients, their families, and professionals we work with to deliver exceptional care.

The IKOR Technology program powered by Grand Care

The heart of the IKOR Technology Program features a large touchscreen appliance in the residence of a senior or an adult who can live independently with additional support. No computer or technical skills are needed. It’s very easy to operate. IKOR team members and/or designated family members, professionals, and caregivers use the touchscreen to remotely support our clients regardless of geographic proximity.

IKOR team members, family members or professionals who support an aging or disabled individual can log into the online portal or smart phone application to video chat (with HIPAA compliance), send messages, add pictures, create to-do lists, add calendar and medication reminders and much, much more. The individual doesn’t even need to touch the device for it to do its job.
If the individual didn’t get out of bed in the morning, opens the front door at an unusual hour, or didn’t check off that they took their medications, wireless activity monitors can send email, phone, and text notifications to our IKOR team members, any professional who supports the individual, or family caregivers.

To the individual, the touchscreen is information, socialization, family interaction, games, and music. But to our IKOR Team Members, family members, and professionals who support seniors, and disabled individuals from a distance, it is a revolutionary solution to support independence and improve caregiving with in-home providers.
• HIPAA Compliant Virtual video visits from IKOR team members (if requested)
• Video Calls with Family Members or other professionals
• Calendar scheduling directly to the touchscreen in the home
• Care Coordination between care managers, caregivers, family and any professionals that supports the individual
• Caregiver button in the home to let you know the in home caregiver arrived
• Caregiver to-do checklists (bathing, medications, grocery shopping, etc.)
• Remote activity sensor monitoring (e.g. the individual did not get out of bed, a caregiver didn’t arrive, the front door is opened at an unusual  time of night, the individual visits the bathroom multiple times in the night or day and many other things.)
• Telehealth capabilities (automatic BP, weight, pulse ox, glucose, temperature recordings to system)
• Medication Management – prompts to take medications, dosage, pictures of what medications look like and IKOR will work to have the medication packaging set up.
